As you can see my cars headlights were bad, i had tried several different things on it with no luck ( carb cleaner, oven cleaner ect). I found this kit at the automotive mechanics shop in town for $22 so I bought it. Somepeople have said they have tried kits like this before with no luck, i just wanted to let any of you with foggy headlights know that this kit does work. The headlights are like new.

It might get the scratches out, i guess it depends on how deep they are, and how long you want to sand on them. It took me over 2 hours to polish mine. It may not get all the scratches out but it would definitely help, especially if your lens is foggy like mine was. The kit contains 3 different grit sand paper discs a foam buffer and polish, the coursest disc is 500 grit which is pretty fine. I was just thinkin if the scratches are too deep you could take and sand the lens with a little bit courser grit sand paper first then continue with the kit, and that would probably make it go a lot faster.

btw 3M makes the kit and its called "Headlight Lens Restoration System"

Its not anything like that, it has an attachment to put in a standard drill and on that attachment you put on sand paper discs. Then you sand away using the coursest grit first then working to the finer grit and last you use the polish and a foam buffer and it turns out like new.

xcr440: Im not sure who made the other kits, I heard this from my sisters boyfriend who has the same car with the same problem and when I bought this kit and told him about it he said he had tried kits like that before with no luck. He ended up buying new headlights.

How do I reply to two different people like I should have done on this post?

I will post some pictures of the kit so you know what it looks like.

Polish kit
Polish kit

The deal on the left goes in the drill
The next 3 things are sanding discs with velcro on the back to stick to the thing in the drill
The orange foam thing is the buffer with velcro
And the little packet is the polish to go on the buffer.
The package in the background is what the kit came in.

Hope this helps.

i have used the meguiars plastic polish and it works decent on foggy headlights, but that kit would be a alot better fro scratched lenses.
