I'm new to the site and new to snowmobiling. I just picked up a 2003 SX Viper 700 with only 7 miles on it. Is there anything that I need to look out for, maintain, or upgrade? Before starting the engine I took the carbs off and cleaned them. Ten Pulls later the sled started right up! I have read a lot of different articles online and the sled seems pretty solid. I just wanted to get feedback before winter comes.
Thanks
Ben

Found it on craigslist in MI, A guy bought it in 2004, rides it around his property once and stored it in his warehouse till I picked it up three weeks ago. I'll try and post pictures asap.

He was asking $3200, I talked him down to $3000. I didn't think it was that bad of a deal for a basically brand new two stroke sled considering that two stroke sleds are no longer made!

Well, all the other manufacturers still make 2-strokes. Yamaha still makes one too.

I wasn't aware that Yamaha still makes a two stroke sled. Even if they do I still would have bought this sled, it seemed like a fair price to me.

nice sled man, my dad has the same thing except it's amountain. very nice sleds

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

The oil spot is normal as long as it isn't a big puddle.

Well, thanks for the feedback guys. I probably will stud the track in the future, but will keep the rest of it stock until I break it in and get some miles on it.

I own the exact same sled that I really like but it is currently modifed. I want a trail sled and it needs to be a two stroke. I have no interest for the new sleds on the market right now. It sounds like yours is pretty much in new condition. Please let me know if this is the case and if you are willing to discuss. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer, but im not interested. You can find these sleds pretty cheap with around 2000 miles on them.
