Well boys, it's starting to get to that time of the year. Leaves are starting to turn, it's getting cool at night, daily highs around 65 degrees. Time to start thinking about registrations, trail passes, and of course, getting the sled ready for the season.

What projects do you have coming up, or started, to get your sled "snow ready?"

I just ordered 144 studs and tall nuts from johnmaster.net, which used to be Accord Racing. Lifetime bend and break warranty, 60* carbide tip. Doin 144 down the middle, got 48 double backers and 48 singles. This is the last part of my sled's transformation that I've been putting off for too long.

I just finally put my carbs back on from cleaning them, emptied out and cleaned gas tank, testing with some gears this year, coolant flush,
I need to...
clean clutches
clean VES
send in all 4 of my shocks for rebuild
get carbides and install them

Installed electric start on the little ladies sxvenom, real easy...father in law bought her that for her birthday, droped the sled off and came back to help install it and he had it all done. Simple as that.

This topic has been discussed 100 times. go to the search forum and type in "pre season"

Hes asking what everyone is doing this year to their sleds, Just cause it has been discussed before doesn't mean you can't start a new thread, people don't do 144 studs, a new track and skis every year, things change over 12 months.

Not a thing until probably after thanksgiving. Considering last year we never rode here until the end of January im in no hurry. But my list of things to do is clean and adjust the carbs, change chaincase oil and maybe gears, new voltage regulator, new headlight, adjust the suspension, new carbides, and maybe tear apart the clutch. I have a bad low end bog and only have lights every now and then, so it needs fixed. Plus it has terrible traction, both ends, and there are just a bunch of other little things i hate. Im really hoping to find a good deal on a sled this fall or maybe next year. There are just so many things i want to upgrade on my sled, but im not allowed and it will cost to much. I didnt make half the money i was hoping to this summer due to little to no work, so it really sucks right now.

Deciding on a extension or keeping 121 also complimenting on a 1.5 ripsaw or 1.5 intense by camoplast going to get RSI 15 degree bend installed which are nice because I can keep my stock bar console because they are flat so they might work with the handlebar console then going to buy my first set of hooks I plan having the 90 degree bends on both sides Also getting 6 or 4 inch pivot risers thrown on as well probably do all this stuff in November during deer season because we usually get a good amount deer season in my area last year we had snow all season except opening day lucky I got my doe on opening day because I did not see any thing else the rest of the season because we had a lot of powder during that time so that was fun to ride in LOL

I still have the new carve track to put on, new shaper bars for the C&a's, which I have to put back on, might polish the tunnel again. Thats about it for the pro x.

I have to remove all the ice picks from the 440 and put the trail studs in. Try to get the t-flow calibrated this year with the clutching dialed in. I just can't get it to work. WOrks fine for a few pulls and then won't pull top speed???

I was very happy with Jerry at JBShocks on the east side of MI. I remember paying $25/shock back when I got the sled but through a different company but they stopped doing shocks and like everthing else it goes up in price. Not sure what he charges today but worth every pennie and will do it right the first time. Plus he can set them up per your weight and riding style.

I was on the brakes the whole time hoping the nose would drop, I was hanging on till the tail hit the dirt. I broke through the wind drift and hit the cut bank underneath on the take off and it kicked the nose staight up.

It has 80degrees here for the past week, will start cooling back down next week.
Put on a slightly used track with 1 3/8" lugs, new chaincase oil when track swap. Replaced seat cover( had giant rip from an accident last year) make sure everything is greased(well not "EVERYTHING") allready started her up and she sounds sweet. All she needs now is snow. Trail permit and registration are still good this year, will be last though then I will have to renew it.

Replace old studs
Clean clutches/install new one. Oh yeah if I took the engine out do I need to realign the clutches?
Clean carb
Polish Rear Bumper
Touch up paint here and there
New hood straps. Contemplating four straps????
New head gaskets
Maybe some vents painted orange???

Some ideas I have.
Chop windshield
Custom riser
Custom drop brackets
Bigger carb
Gutted air box/filter relocation
Dual front shocks
Powdercoat skis
Ect ect
Alot to chew on and I need to really watch my money and prioritize for future purchases (*cough* newer sled *cough*) plus being already in debt so I don't expect to see much, ideas mostly.

I just finished studding my sled with the same pattern using studboy studs and power tower nuts. I used a woody's template because it has 18 scratch line compared 12 on some other templates. I changed the gearcase oil and i'm in the process of greasing some suspension/idler bolts. I'm awaiting my turn to get my updated top end, head, remap and can. Obviously the sled has been clean for a while...
