I've been reading alot of threads that mention how much time it takes to maintain VES. I am not sure of what all the maintenance is. Can someone explain?

Thanks

basically the biggest thing is clean the valves. Pull them out by taking out the horizontal screws, clean them with oven cleaner and a wire wheel.

Not a big deal to take care of. If its a new sled the valves get dirtier quicker because of the richer mixture in the gas from the factory. Better oils keep the valves cleaner. I serviced mine after the 1 500 miles and about 1000 mile intervals after that. You need to be carefull not to overtighten the bolts, this can strip the threads and cause a problem on the trail. It also doesnt hurt to have a couple of extra gaskets handy since they are fairly cheap. If you are carefull, they can be reused.

It's all about the ride to get there, the destination doesn't matter!
