They were the only engines found in polaris sleds for 30+ years. The reason they used them for so long is because they were such great engines.

btw your xcr is a fuji engine.

If you don't run her lean, you shouldn't have any problems with the center cylinder. My center is actually a little richer than the others with all the same jets.

If its a triple its a fuji motor. So unless someone put a liberty twin in there, your ultra has a fuji motor.

wrong, my old 800 storm and my buddies 700 Ultra '98 is a fugi 3 cylinder with seperate jugs.
The only Fugi issue I have heard of was with the 94-95 storms that were recalled, new jugs and pistons installed and were killers ever since, Just look at all the STORM based drag sleds on here alone. GREAT engines.

On the XLT's of that era, look for a 4th oil line going to the PTO bearing, the 'unofficial' update to keep them from eating that bearing.

95 - Storm 800 - Modded - AKA: FrankenStorm - Totalled near 100mph at Tug Hill!
96 - XLT/SP with Storm 800 trip/trip and now EFI - FrankenStorm II lives...
95 - RXL -- Sale Pending --
05 - Edge 800 long track - Stayin' stock for now..
