Have you guys given any thought on how you are going to move that thing yet? As it looks right now you will be landing in your driveway or in the street.

Are you going to throw some tracks down?
Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

hospital bills & new or rebuilt sled will cost more than the steel.thats if you your not hurt(hope not). You may want to drive a truck up on that thing to check it. there will be 3-4 tons of force at least on that if you hit it at 30 with a 500 pound sled.Be safe!

dumb dumb and dumber. Wood can be built quite strong. Houses are built of wood and seem to support tons upon tons of weight. That ramp might not be super light but this is something you move there and leave. Paint the thing up to help with water damage and it'll be fine. Come spring put it where it's not soaking in pools of water and it will last.
IMO you might want to consider triangulating the cross 2x4's. Go from the base on both sides and to the center of the cross pieces. That long of a 2x4 span unsupported won't be strong. Or essentially create another end piece and put it in the center. With the center supported it'll be plenty strong, especially if you plate the joints.

I never said there was anything wong with the angle itself i said u need to make the ramp longer. you got most of the profile right. but if u look at some of the pics of comp ramps posted. you will see that the ramp starts at a fairly shallow angle then the angle progresses quite quickly, this profile will make ur sled lauch much nicer by letting the suspension compress and rebound properly.
i ride where its steep n' deep :P
