Seems a little steep, you can find a XCR800 motor for that price. just my 2 cents

no number nor add, last year at Hastings a complete XCR 800 motor for $999, I have seen on craigslist and Hastings the 600VES motors for $600 tops.

ok then, please post links to adds for this motor for 600 dollars then.. especially if they are cheapier, as you stated 600 was tops... it'll save people looking for this motor some money, but im assuming you wont ...

You find me XCR 800 motors for a grand and I'll buy as many as you can find!! 1000 for that 600 VES is a steal !!

"I have a complete lower mileage XCR 800 motor for sale. The only thing I don't have is the CDI. I also have carbs. and most of the rest of the sled if you need something else. Good track, suspension, seat, etc. I'm looking to get $1200 B/O for the motor."
then 2 days later the seller came back and wrote...
"price reduced $750 firm for motor, email if interested will not check back on post, thanks"
So I wasnt on here to give anyone a hard time, but just because you personally havent seen or heard of a XCR800 motor selling under a grand doesnt mean its not out there. So when I said that the 600 motor was a little steep this is why.
Here is another...
"I have a 01 600 XC SP VES engine for sale. Has had the top end recently rebuilt and the gaskets were just replaced. Comes with oil and water tank, carbs, CDI, coil, along with the primary clutch. the ONLY reason for selling this motor is because it will not fit into the chassis we are trying to use it in. Engine runs good.. Looking to get $750 obo."

OK last one...
"I bought a sled and have decided to part it. The engine is from a 2002 XC and it is a VES engine. I pulled the exhaust and it looks real nice inside the cylinder walls. There is no vibrations and it starts easily. I think the engine is in pretty good condition.

I am asking $1,000 for the engine c/w recoil, stator,, etc. Carbs and primary clutch are extra but I would not be asking a lot for either.
If you are looking at a 800 upgrade for a Gen 2 chassis, I would work a deal on the entire engine including electrical and mounts.
$150 would be the max for shipping anywhere in Canada or continental US. If the actual shipping is less, I will refund the difference. For example, if actual shipping is only $100, I will send $50.
The sled came with SLP single pipe but I am going to remove the rust via electrolysis so I won't have any pics for a few days."

you are a peice of work, i sold the motor, you are right, once in awhile you will find a super great deal on a motor, or a car, or a house, happens all the time, if i would have been asking 1500 for motor it would have been overpriced, it was priced for fair market value in my mind, I wasn't in desperate need to sell, as others are.... no matter what the price is on any item, im sure there will be others out there cheapier, but anywho... i said my piece, and i still think you are an idiot...

I really don't get why people have to reply with "your prices are steep...blah blah blah." It's the sellers choice to list an item for a given amount. If you don't like it, then you don't have to buy it! Pretty simple concept people...
