Got a smoking deal on a ZR700 this summer, and its about time to update my riding gear anyhow. I'd like to rep the Cat, but not break the bank while doing it. I see some decent deals on DennisKirk - but is there anywhere else I should be looking for some decently priced gear?

I'd like to go with a green/black scheme - but then again, I'll go where I can save the most cash which will enable me to have more in my actual riding budget.

Thanks!

I don't think its a good idea to get gear that matches your sled. Get a neutral color that would go well with any sled. What happens if your sled dies a month into the season and you get a polaris to replace it?

Good call. I just may do that. I just need to find some good deals now. Does any other place besides Dennis Kirk have any?

I'd check on eBay. I've seen some pretty good deals go on gear there. If not, check the Classified sections on forums, seems like there are always dealers advertising on there offering a "Forum Discount." And like mentioned before, I'd go with some neutral gear, unless you are really brand loyal. There is no problem with being brand loyal, but you never know what you may come across next year, who knows!

If you know what brand offers the kind of sled you want to ride then buy that brands clothing. Otherwise stick to what these guys are saying and buy neutral colors.

You can call me brand loyal to Polaris, but they offer a specific sled i want to ride, not just something to jump on and go. So i buy all Polaris gear, but most of my friends dont give a rats a$$ what they ride as long as they are on the snow, so they buy neutral clothing. They seem to switch sleds every year. I cant imagine switching gear every year, that would be costly.

The choice is yours, if your buying online, try finding that item in a store to see what size you are (if its a better price online) then order, there is nothing worse then having it shipped to you only to find out it doesn't fit.

just my 2 cents

Castle X and FXR make some pretty nice gear. I would deffinitly suggest those. Just bought me a new FXR coat a couple weeks ago.

No offense but initially thought you meant you were becoming gay, haha.
Anyways i would look into FXR they have some good stuff and that way you aren't "branded"

WHat i did was buy castle bibs, scorpion helmet, and arctic cat (black and grey) coat. This way if I'm jumping to another brand for a day or two I wont stick out like a sore thumb.

Catdeals has cheap prices but I will never buy anything from them again. They are based out of Marshall, Minnesota at a dealership called Marshall Small Engine. They treated my family poorly on a repair job after we had blown a wad of cash on different sleds with them. Left a really bad taste in my mouth. I now shop at Country Cat in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Here is a fun little fact. They have such a huge inventory of parts that they are often called by other dealers who aren't able to handle that kind of inventory. I took a tour of the place when I bought my last sled there. It was impressive to say the least.

Here is my scorpion helmet btw, figure it can go with the different brands!

I have a lot of Castle X gear and it seems to last a long time. And the prices are very reasonable and they make color combos to match about any sled
