Blew it up is such a loose term. Problem I've personally seen with the 'blown up' sleds is the condition of the cylinders and crank. If you can take the head off before buying and check the cylinders, I would seriously consider doing it. Check for severe scoring and judge the need for a bore.
Then I'd also check if the crank is good. Rotate the clutch and see if it turns over smooth with no grinding or places it does not want to turn. Crank probs are going to be a spendy fix, especially if the cylinders are bad. You're going to be looking at $500+ to get the crank done, new top end, maybe the cylinders.
Up to you my friend. Gotta also think, running, that sled probably isn't worth much more than what you'll have in it. Food for thought. For $250, it's a good parts sled though.

yea i know its a loose term, but i figure for a parts sled its a good price.the guy bought the track on it for 450 last season and the track is in good shape,so i think i might just buy it for a parts sled and throw the track on my current sled.maybe even throw a tripple in it if i could, some kinda of beast haha

yup
See what is wrong with it and rebuild it. All the parts are available for this engine still.

the cylinders may be nicisil wich will cost a nit more and need to be sent out to be re-coated.

As a parts sleds, excellent buy there, the track alone most likely is worth $250, ski's, skid, shocks, recoil, cylinders, clutches, etc all bring good money on E-Bay, or will save you money when a part is needed. If a motor rebuild is needed, well that will depend on what's wrong internally. My suggestion is yank the motor out of the chassis, on a bench, and tear it all the way down to the crank, that way you know what you got, either a rebuild, or it becomes a parts sled
