Anyone know of a larger or better copy of them out there in cyberland?

Anyone built that lift? I heard there was a mistake on it a year back or so but I don't remember what it was.

I am going to build one.

Those are the only plans I've seen around anywhere. They've been posted many time over on HCS. I thought about building one, but didn't feel like devoting the time to it since I have other things to tend to whenever I get home.

After 2-3 years of beating around the bush I finally ordered one yesterday to be done with it.

Sled Lift

They were one of the cheaper ones I found. I looked at them first hand at HayDays...they seemed ok. I wasn't sure about the jack, but I've read a few positive reviews with no failures. I'll find out eventually I guess. Doesn't take much to fit it with a different jack if something happens. I think it'll be fine though.

My son built one in school from those plans. I think we had like $75 bucks in it but there are things I would change, like a little wider with wheels and the angle of the crank. sure beats working on the ground.

A quick FYI...I just got an email from Korkys.; apparently they are back-ordered and won't be available for 3-4 weeks. I was hoping to use it if I go home in a couple weeks for Antelope season. Now to decide if I wait it out, or order another one I was looking at for $40 more. I've waited 2-3 years, what's another week or two I guess...ha.

Here is the one my dad is currently using on his zr. It works great. There is a hand crank that you turn once you place each of the supporting bars underneath each of the running boards. I love the thing. It works great especially for bleeding a coolant system! Its only half way cranked too...

I've built a few of these, close to the same as this with my own little changes and modifications.. For anyone who is in the middle on weather they are worth it or not, once you have one you will not go without...

Since I work in a steel shop, I have a few people wanting me to build them. Just need more time and to think about any changes to it. Will be built a lot stronger.

A friend of mine built one from those plans with square post galvanized metal, the kind with holes all around for bolting on the signs. It worked pretty good, and he uses a drill to lift the sled instead of a hand crank.. pretty slick.

'03 Indy 500 sks (Scumpman's Kicka** Snowmachine) extended skid/track to 136" from TracksUSA, AC roller clutch, Holtzman Tempaflow, clutched and geared, 2" risers, skidplate, old Pol rack.

I built one a few years back from those plans with a few additions. After using it I wont work on a sled without it.

Everything was built to plan with these additions.
1. Wheels were added. The wheels on the front came off a floor jack. After looking for casters heavy enought at the store we found some for $8 each. We then came across a floor jack on sale for $15 with heavier casters on it. We bought the floor jack and sawzalled off the wheel brackets and welded them on the front sides. For the back wheels we bought some ball bearings that fit inside the rectangle tubing. We then cut the bottom off of last inch or two of the rectangle tubing.

2. We removed the crank handle from the jack. We then bought a 3/8 drive socket and bolted it on where the handle was. This allows the sled to be lifted by a drill with a 3/8 sqaure adaper or a ratchet.

3. The final thing we added was some rubber. On the lift post we used some things that are used on older polaris indys. Its a mushroom shaped rubber thing that the exaust sits on. On the bar the sled sits on in the front we used some peice of moulding.

If you want some better pictures of it im shure i can dig threw my computer and find some.

Ya some bigger ones if you can find some.

I have always just used the 2x4 or a makeshift one that i can just build in like 5 mins with wood. But that seems much easier. On a scale of 1-10 10 being hard, how was it to build it?

do you think it is possible to make it out of wood?

To be honest I never really thought about a lift at all. But man I would sure love one for those 15 minutes of trying to lift the d*mn thing up and put blocks under it.

Be a good christmas present actually.

If you cant fix it with duct tape, tylnol, or band aids your screwed.
