I've been looking for a polaris 120 snowmobile for my son to upgrade from that slow ass kitty kat. I've also been looking at performance parts and engines knowing that I would have to mod it. Well at the grass drags this weekend we found an 01 z120 with a brand new Recmotors racing engine already installed. Got tons of extra sprockets and clutch parts, stock seat, green c&a skis, and stock windshield with it. Has big wheel kit, extra track wheels, heavy duty springs, taller seat, handlebar risers, plastic skis, and heavy duty chain tensioner.

Here is a link to the engine that is in it, dynos att 12hp.http://www.recmotor.com/products/306/

Here is a vid of his first ride. I tinkered with the carb after this video and got it running even better.

When hell freezes over I'll ride there too!!

I'm pretty impressed with it. I've still got to set the clutching and gearing up for his weight as it's set for a heavier kid, then it should fly. We're going to take it to some grass drags this fall.

He's very excited at the idea of following me this winter. His kitty kat could barely get out of it's own way, couldn't even try taking it out of the yard. I'm fairly confident he'll be on the trail this winter.

I called rec motorsports for more info on the engine. He looked it up according to the guy that had the work done. It is a full on mod engine. Still a 120cc but it's ported, bigger valves and springs, carb is bored with velocity stack, governor gear totally removed, tuned pipe, billet lightweight flywheel, chromoly pushrods, mod camshaft, 15 hp on dyno!!
Forgot to add it has a tiny tach too.
