I am seriously looking at one of these. Is there anything I should know about them? How is the power? Are there reliability issues?
How easy is it to get a pipe/silencer?

Don't know much about them but I love the look of the ZX chassis summits! My friend used to have a 2000 summit 700 and it was nice

Yeah I own an 79 alpine
1998 Polaris Indy 500 chassis with 98 Xc 600 motor
SLP ceramic coated pipe with SLP can
V-force reeds
4 inch pivot riser
Gutted Air Box
EPI clutch kit soon to be installed
Maybe some pro tapers
1998 XC 700 water-cross sled
SLP twin pipes
Some light weight parts
Water-cross mods include taking the parts u do not need
This includes removing the seat replacing gas tank and IFS bars.

The ZX chassis is great. The only issue I have is my feet slipping off the narrow running boards from time to time. This can be fixed with some rails and grips though.
One thing you would definately want to look for in a Summit is DPM. This controls the fuel, sort of liek EFI. If it does not have it, you will be messing with the carburation a lot.
Any more questions?

I got a 2002 summit 800 and I put in boyesen reeds last year and noticed a difference in throttle response. For $400 there an alrite mod

I do believe that 600 engine is the same one that has been used since '99, and is still used in the current model year (was known as the 600, then 500ss, now the 600 Carb). From what I've read and seen it's a pretty reliable motor. Not exactly sure on the power/torque range, but I do know that Doo's 700's run about 125-130 HP, so my guess would be between maybe 105-115ish HP (just a guesstimate).
And I'm loving the ZX chassis.

Yes, the 99 to 02 sleds were pretty much the same (except for throttle response, IMO)
