SLP FTW!
Nice tone and isn't excessively loud like alot of them. I've always loved the sound of the SLP's.

An SLP silencer should be under $300...I don't know where you're getting your prices...

I'd say stay stock but, I think SLP is the best sounding can out they and even better sounding on a Polaris. I have one on my 2004 Pro-X 600. Soon to be coming off though due to the can being annoying on long rides. Stay stock or go SLP!
Polaris Pro-X=Sledgehammer, and every bit as tough as one!

i think i might go for a sno stuff or mbrp. My buddy has an mbrp trail can and thats even loud. it has a nice braap. i dont really think it will bother me that much if it is very loud. sort of hard of hearing already. ha. and long rides. i did 250 miles in a day and a half of ditch banging in southern minnesota ha

the mbrp sounds GREAT (very loud with a great roar) but it's a bit too loud after a while. the SLP sounds really good also, but its not as loud and is much easier on the long rides. but, aftermarket cans close trails....

SLP silncers are the best not too loud and don't think you will ever have to worry about one closing a trail also they add HP to your sled.

Quieter is better. Back in the early to mid 90s I was piping all my sleds.(triple piped) Things have changed so much that even though you think you're in an area that doesn't bother anyone, it does. Pipe manufaturers have proven that you don't need loud pipes to make power. (I still don't understand how the motorcycle guys get away with some of their exhaust systems) Someone will complain. We are losing more land to ride on everyday. Quieter sleds = more places to ride.

In my opinion if u are gonna spend $250 buy something that makes your sled faster.
SLP cans sound good though.

i would use a coffee can. way cheaper and will make the most noise.
I honestly like my slp quiet on the trails but loud on the hills.
No matter what can you get dont forget to soak it in monster over night and then bake it in a oven to make it louder and last longer.

I used to live in Dakota cty (Lake Marion area), and rode down through Scott cty all day, and I would tell you to watch out for the DNR now days, last yr friends of mine were getting pulled over on triple "stock" sleds for noise, it's just a matter of time. ****ers don't do a damn thing on a guy riding a Harley with cut off pipes, but as soon as a dirtbike, ATV, or sled with aftermarket goes through, they got their panties in a up roar!!

Personally, I like the sound of the Sno-Stuff can, but I know SLP makes good stuff, so for the extra $100.00 or so I would go with the SLP.
