It's Snowing!!!!

UT sucks....stupid early season snow, hopefully gets warm and melts most of it off before we get anything else so we don't have that lovely layer of ice for a base of 8 feet of snow this winter.

Oh well...snow is snow!!

.AN UNSEASONABLY COLD PACIFIC SYSTEM HAS ENTERED THE REGION. A ROBUST
COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN UTAH THROUGH THIS MORNING. SNOW
LEVELS ARE RAPIDLY FALLING BEHIND THE FRONT... AND THIS WILL BRING THE
FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOW STORM OF THE SEASON TO THE NORTHERN
MOUNTAINS ABOVE 8000 FEET.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT
THURSDAY...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT
THURSDAY.

THIS WARNING IS FOR THE WASATCH MOUNTAINS AND THE WESTERN UINTA
MOUNTAINS ABOVE 8000 FEET.

RAIN AND SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THIS MORNING...BECOMING
WIDESPREAD BY DAYBREAK. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW
IN THE MOUNTAINS DURING THE MORNING HOURS AS SNOW LEVELS DROP
TOWARD 8000 FEET. SNOW WILL CONTINUE...HEAVY AT TIMES...THROUGHOUT
THE DAY WEDNESDAY AND INTO THURSDAY MORNING AS THE SYSTEM PULLS
AWAY FROM THE REGION.

MANY HIGH ELEVATION ROADWAYS NORMALLY CLOSED DURING THE WINTER
MONTHS REMAIN OPEN AT THIS TIME. TRAVELERS ANTICIPATING TRAVEL
OVER ROADS SUCH AS GUARDSMAN PASS...THE MIRROR LAKE HIGHWAY...AND
HIGHWAY 39 NEAR MONTE CRISTO SHOULD PREPARE FOR SNOW PACKED ROADS
AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES. IN ADDITION TO SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS...STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS ARE DEVELOPING BEHIND THE COLD
FRONT. THESE WINDS WILL CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW

Black Hills of SD is calling for 5-9 inches, not bad. Snow will be here for the rest of us soon enough.

How long until you are riding do you think?

I seen southern MT and northern WY were getting hit pretty good last night from what I seen on the radar. Its already close to freezing temps in ND,could be another early winter.

I wouldn't mind being able to combine and get some field work done before it snows. It can wait 5-6 weeks...

If I find some pics on SnoWest of the snow and post them can I get banned?

And just so you know, there would be no way we could even ride on a foot of snow here. In January we are dissapointed if it doesn't accumlate a foot over the week on our 5 foot base....

Here we go. Riding in September. Not me, but this guy just had to drive up just to say he did.

Can I get banned now?
