you do have to push in there real good, was there dirt or crap on the lines? try turning the tools as you push in.

i blew it out with air, tried turning them, even clamped a vice grip pliers on the side the disconnect tool goes in to pry the tool in with a flathead screwdriver off the vicegrips, she isnt budging, i was able to get the spring to move a little bit but not enough to slide the line out

I would not do that. don't think the clamps will hold. Have you tried pulling and wiggling the lines?

On my explorer I had to "modify" my metal dis-connect tool. Kinda file it down so it slid in the fitting easier. Was a total ball buster. kinda need 3 hands... I also took a large fender washer, cut a slot in it and put it on top of the dis-connect tool to have more leverage when pushing in on it.

I had the scissor style but the flare was too short on mine, so i bought and aluminum set very similiar to the cheap plastic ones you get. I believe the package actually said they were air-conditioning line tools. and I just filed it down so it was a smooth taper. kind of "cone shaped" also can spray it up with lube and let it sit.

went out there to try it again and got both them off with in 10 minutes!!!! :D advice for anyone whos gonna try this in the future- i doused it in penetrating lube, then doused it with brake cleaner, broke the spring loose with the quick disconnect tool and alternated between that and carb cleaner several times to clean it all out, then sprayed it with motor oil to lube it up a bit, clamped my vice grips on the metal part of the female side and used it as a t-handle to pull like hell and they came right out :D

The set I have looks like a C, you snap it on the line and slide down to disengage the spring.
