So I was looking on a repo website that I check each week and there is a 2003 Mountain Cat with a 144" track on the sit. I was thinking about bidding on it but I not sure if I should. I live about 30 miles north of the tricites, so there is no big hills really anywhere. What do you guys think? Is it practical to have a mountain cat in the lower peninsula or would it be just a waste of time and money? thanks.

Really depends on where you do your riding. 144" isn't too extreme. I live in the SW corner of the state and when we get a lake effect pounding, it would be handy to have. Same with the UP and northern lower, it could get used up there.
When hell freezes over I'll ride there too!!

depends how/what you like to ride as stated above. If you like off trail riding then go for it...if your a trail only guy then I'd probably say no, unless you get it for a great price, then all you would have to do is swap out the paddle track for a 1.25 and hit the trails and your good to go tehn with the 144 you'd still have a little more float if you ever nat to go play around off trial.

alot of people are going to 136"-144" just for the ride quality alone.

Well 95% of the time I ride I am ditchbanking and open fields. There are no trails near my house so trail riding isnt a big thing. I do plan to go up to the northern part of the LP tho this year being I have a couple of people to ride with this year instead of being by myself, but I will mostly be riding open fields overall.

If it's at a good deal then I would say yes and you will still have if you decide to go out to the mountains.
-To ride or not to ride, what a stupid question!
-You should never judge a guy until you have walked a mile in his shoes, then you are a mile away and have his shoes
-Ice, snow, or grass, I'll still kick your ass.

If it goes for a decent price I'd go for it. My dad just bought one late last winter(in my signature). I didn't ride it much but its got a lot of power and is very snappy. If your lookin for a sled with a lot of bottom end power that Mountain Cat would be great.

Im thinking if it dont go to high Im guna bid on it. Im guna bid on the zl also. I might buy a 2000 zl 500 for 1500 back home but if that one goes for less Im guna bid. And I figured since they are in Grand Rapids and I am going to the Hastings swap meet next saturday i would just pick them up on the way back home.
