I was trying to start the most problematic snowmobile we have(the el tigre). Well, it lived up to its name, and wasn't getting fuel. I checked to see if fuel pump was "bad". Nope, I took the stem off that leads to the gas tank, and the little hose that connects to the end broke off. Now, this also happened on the Pantera too, so I knew what to do. Its just that I think that its a rather bad design to have a rubber hose that sits in gas as the means to retrieve it from the tank. Rubber deteriorates over time, and gas doesn't help either. I'm just curious how long Arctic Cat used this design on their sleds. It makes me...angry. If theres any permafix for this, please help.

Sleds:
1996 Polaris XCR 600 SP
1979 Arctic Cat Kitty Cat
1978 Arctic Cat El Tigre 5000
1976 Arctic Cat Pantera 5000 F/A

As these sleds are from the 70's, maybe replace all the
"rubber" fuel lines to the current type of fuel line that is resistant to ethanol? You can skip that if you run fuel entirely free of ethanol. In our area, it is becoming more difficult to even find premium without it.

I had to do that in a 70's era outboard. The ethanol eats the old rubber over time. As it does, your sled will ingest those pieces possibly clogging your carbs.
