Well I had a topic on here this spring about painting my truck, unfortunately my tranny took a crap and had to be replaced (again) thanks to a mechanic not tightening all the bolts (seriously, how do you screw that up??) and that took up any extra money I had.

But since I've got a good job again I started buying parts for it, had a front clip delivered this week and will be getting the front wheel bearings replaced (buggers started screeching) and the gas tank replaced (it's just a pin hole, wussy's won't ride in it though)

Then I need cab corners and a tail gate, well and paint...after I get that (I plan on spreading out the cost over a few paychecks) I'll start prepping it for paint.

Let me guess...early to mid 90's chev...

I just figured when you said cab corners. Don't feel to bad about the tranny either. Mine just went in my dodge to the tune of 3900.00

lol, yup

The tranny going out pissed me off because it was just put in 3 years ago and only had about 20,000 miles on it

When my mechanic took the trashed one out he said that three out of four bolts were loose, so apparently when I got it stuck (and I wasn't even trying this time) the loose bolts let it flex enough that it broke a corner off the housing.

Needless to say no one I know will be using that "other" mechanic ever again

wow what a load of crap that the mechanic screwed up on something that critical. I am thinking about getting an older truck to put a lift kit on.

Yeah, I cried a little when I compared the cost on a six inch lift for IFS vs. solid axles

If I ever get another truck it will have solid axles.
