Started and made a little progress on converting my sled from the PSI over to the Watercraft today. Got the PSI out and set the WC in to see how it fit. Got a few mods to make to get it in there for good. Pictures arent the best because I had to take them with my Blackberry.
One last PSI underhood picture.
Pipes off.
PSI out.
Goodbye PSI!
Comparison.
On its side to get at some nuts and bolts.
Power Addiction motor plate.
Motor mount needs to be moved and motor plate need to be cut to clear the steering rod.
WC set in for mock up.
Pipes on.
Pipes sit pretty high for now since the motor plate is not set all the way down on the motor mounts.
Now I gotta get it to the machine shop to get that motor mount moved. Then hopefully I can start installing it. Might be a week or two before I can get it into the machine shop though, so progress might stall for awhile.
1200 WC coming soon

Is there a big weight difference between the PSI and the WC motor? Your sig said it was 180hp, but is there a cost to those 40 horses?

Looks great hog and should be a very fun sled once completed. Im assuming your going to be selling the psi motor as well? A 50+ h.p upgrade should be a nice upgrade too! Now all you need to do is update your signature!

I havent gotten around to weighing the WC yet, but I am sure there is a noticeable weight difference, the WC is a BIG motor. Its probably more like a 50-60HP addition, after hearing all the stories of Bruce overrating his HP numbers I doubt mine was 180, and my numbers on the WC are on the conservative side.

This is a Gen2 motor plate, and Brad's plates are a direct fit. I had that motor mount moved when I put in the PSI and the reason the steering hits is because of the aftermarket bell crank.

What watercraft engine is that? 1200? I had a 780 and 1050 water craft years ago. Very dependable.

It's not a watercraft engine, its a watercraft based sled engine, but everyone in the sled world refers to them as watercraft engines.
It's a Polaris 1050 or 1200 watercraft crankcase (thats the only thing watercraft on the engine), a custom built crank, and either 3 700 twin cylinders to make a 1050 or 3 800 twin cylinders to make a 1200, 3 800 twin domes, custom head, pipes are 800 twin pipes just 3 of them, Indy 650 waterpump, Ultra ignition, etc.
Mine is a 1200.

Stroke is different on the 1050 and the 1200. The 1050 has a 68 mm stroke and the 1200 has a 70 mm stroke. The bearing on the wrist pin is also larger on the 1200 so you have to use the pistons and cylinder that fit the crankshaft you are using, they don't interchange.
Either engine will give you more power than you really need though.

I don't know if you can top it.
Not too much progress to report, still waiting to get it into the machine shop. The recent wet weather has pushed beet harvest back which has pushed my appointment back. I have been gathering some parts though, picked up a Ultra wiring harness, new steering post,a recoil Power Addiction coil mounts and a billet throttle block. I should have all the parts I need, so once I get it into and back from the machine shop it should go together rather quickly.

Made a little progress on it this weekend and today. Its progress all be it little but still progress, although after today it should move along rather quickly. Mounted up the Power Addiction coil mounts this weekend, much better mounting than how they were before (just hanging off the water rail) check out the pictures above to see how they were mounted. Still need to get a few bolts to get it all buttoned up. Biggest progress was I got it into the machine shop to get the motor mount moved. I also had him cut out an old motor mount, I did this because I think I am going to switch it over to XC-10 steering because the motor plate will have to be cut to clear the current steering and the bell crank will lightly hit the pipe when turned all the way to the right. The XC-10 steering will clear everything. Also got the Ultra recoil cut to clear the 650 water pump belt.
