Dont the new 4strokes have a 16 inch wide track versus your SRX which is only a 15 inch?

Anything is possible with the right amount of $$$

4 stroke phazers actually have a narrower track. if you have all the mounting point measurements from the donor sled, the transition is fairly straightforward. thats the key to any skid swap.

^^^ Correct. 2007 and up Phazers have a 14" wide track, instead of the normal 15" wide track that would be on a 2001 SRX 700.

You could make spacers to get it to fit into the tunnel, but I really don't think is the direction you should go for a few reasons:

1. Running a 700 2-stroke on a 14x121 track probably isn't the best idea. Granted, it's only 1" less, but that's going to be around 50 square inches less track touching the snow at any time.

2. The track selection for Phazers is downright pitiful.

3. Jacking up the rear end of your sled that high is going to adversely affect your handling. An '01 Yamaha isn't going to have much rear travel, but it's not going to have all that much front travel as well. If you suddenly stuff 16" of travel into the rear skid without changing something in the front suspension, your sled is going to be trying to drive its nose straight into the ground.

i don;t think a phazer skid would be the best to have. the skid is accutally narrower itself not just the track, that could cause alot of headaches. if you want to swap a nytro skid would be better. but like 07phazer said its gonna mess up the handling. I think your best route is to look into a company like hygear suspension to set up up with a better shock package for the skid.

i ride where its steep n' deep :P

I buddy I ride with has a 121x14x1 ripsaw in his viper, and the only difference is the footprint. He put it on because at the time they didn't make a 121x15x1 Ripsaw. Someone can correct me If I'm wrong but you should be able to run the phazer suspension with a 15" track in the SRX tunnel. I believe the rails are the same distance apart. Maybe take some measurements to make sure.

Tomorrow, I'll measure the distance between the windows of the track on my Phazer. I'll also measure the distance between the windows on the old 15" wide track I have screwed to my trailer when I pick it back up tomorrow. I'm somewhat curious myself now...I know a 15" track won't fit into my tunnel, but it'd be interesting to know if they made a new track, or just modified one.

If your goning to be buying an 07 phazer just ride that one. whatever they are a blast to ride around in i went from an 01 AC zl 800 ers that thing could move to a 09 phazer rtx and i probably have even more fun then i did before i say stick with that phazer. that is because you seem to want the travel. The fun factor on the phazer is wayy higher then the fun factor on a bigger size engine sled. im not sure where you ride but i cant really get my sleds up to full speeds on a trail untill i hit a lake, too many hills and turns and what not. that makes the phazer fun to ride because its quick to take off vs. top speed. i love the suspention its got, and the ease everythig, i can acctualy turn the sled around on a trail just turning the handle bars all the way withought getting into the soft ... shoulder? i guess, that how manouverable they are
