i have been looking for a 600 rev for a while now but i am not sure what the differences in these 3 motors are. can anyone tell me what the fuel economy and power are on these 3 motors? i also read that the old 2000 600's were the same as 500ss. what years was that engine? what are the differences? what models do they come in? sorry for being clueless

what you read is correct, the old 00' 600's are the same engine as the 500ss, i think those '500s' put out about 105hp. the HO's have about 10 more hps if i'm not mistaken, more leaner engine and different calibration from the ss. the sdi has the best fuel economy from the rest and puts out 3 more hp then the HO. the difference is how it's fed. semi direct injection. i has 2 injectors on each cylinder and the throttle bods pull in air.

if i am not mistaken, the '500' and the HO get similar mpg. but the sdi gets 23mpg max . well that's from what i read.

My '05 sdi gets about 17 mpg USA. The 600 HO gets less than 10 mpg based on the 2 I have known.

small block 600 started in 99. For the rev it was renamed the 500ss. Motor stayed the exact same throughout the years. 600HO/SDI is the big block and is the old 700 with a different top end. SDI's get high teens, HO gets around 10, 500ss mid teens for mileage.

FWIW, go with a sdi or a 500ss. The HO had a few issues. Isoflex leakage, lousy mileage, overheating.
