I learned a lesson from a friend who had his camper cushions chewed up by mice, try to leave a roll of paper towel out where the mice can find it. They will use that to line the nest with. Doesn't stop them from building it in your sled but might keep them from chewing on it.

I used to have a big mouse problem in my barn, now I have 3 cats. They do a dang good job keeping them in check. Hardly use any bait or traps now.

Ok, I found out for sure that the airbox I had in mind was a high-flow from SLP, but it's no longer in production...

maybe just drench the paper towels in anti freeze. then they'll just die.

could i just bend a pipe so it will go towards the back of the hood, but bend it in a way that it would be easy to take out?

Every fall, I start leaving cat food inside my barn, and it draws a few wild cats.. Then they discover that my barn is better than the outside, and I have no critter problems all winter.

Yeah, just get a cat. When we first moved to where we are living now we had a huge problem with mice, my dad would always find them running out of the sleds when he would go to get them ready. We got a cat that kills every mouse it sees and we haven't had an issue with them in years. I think it has been like 2 years since I have seen a mouse around here.

I do the mothballs thing, plug all ports with steel wool, and then I DON'T cover the sled (they managed to scrape the insides of the cover and turn it into nest material a few years back).

I had a snake get under the fly wheel of my lawnmower one time. Little Fer shorted out my ignition coil. My wife went to mow the lawn. She said it started then a sec later died. I investigated it when I got home only to find a crispy gardener snake under the flywheel. lol

Just something to think about, have you ever seen a mouse fall 10 feet and get up and run? i was sitting in my garage cleaning one of my sleds and all of a sudden something brown off to might right went from top to bottom of my vision.(I am pretty paranoid) so instantly i look up and see nothing then i look on the ground and there is this lil mouse peering into my soul. i make a move for a basketball and he high tails it out of the garage. Im sick of them bas%!#ds im glad i found out about the dryer sheets early.
hope nobody has serious problems.

HAHA, oh my that would be BA. we had a huge pile of sticks, logs, and lawn scraps that we lit on fire. A swear you could hear all of the mice screaming when they were burning. We used 3 gallons of gas to start it they had no clue.

check inside your Recoil. we had mice once, who took dog food and packed the Recoil full of it. so just take off the cover, and have a look and see.
