Quote originally posted by firecatF5 That thing is sooo clean for that many miles. You could probably turn around and sell that sled for more than its worth! Once its fixed of course.. Thats the plan. But since no one has money nowadays, I'll have to use the T word. Yes, you guessed it, TRADE. I had a mountain biking race today, so I didn't have time to work on it. Should hopefully have some time tomorrow. It's getting awfully cold out, and theres to many cars in the garage to fit a sled in their. I will definitely get one of the cases split tomorrow though. Luckily for me, he shut both motors down right before the point of a catastrophic failure. I plan on getting new pistons, and rings for it. They are opposite side bearings that let go. Maybe I'll send one of these cases with the motor to get Als to lower the price on the crank rebuild. I want to send it out before I go up to Vermont to pick up my truck, so that way, I can just swing by Als and not pay for return shipping on the crank. Triple. No offense, but you got ripped off on that Fusion. I know it's built on the IQ chassis. Its similar to every other IQ platform, but it has it's differences. The airbox. The plastics. The A-Arms ( They are actually different from every other IQ. Even the 05 and 06 Fusion use different A-Arms ). The tunnel has some very slight differences as well. Then the seat. They sell in my area in perfect condition with under 4000 miles for UNDER $3000 USD. But, Seth or someone like that had one he said, and that its been ramped for a little while, so he doesn't want much at all, so hopefully I can get $2400 or so for my sled, and then maybe buy the Rev for $2000.

Hm. Can you PM me his number if you have it so I can call him tomorrow. I have another Rev thats not in perfect shape that I'm looking at, and I think I can get him down to $2200 on it.
And fryeburg sounds fine if you wanna go riding. We can do the loop if your up to it. Fryeburg, to Denmark, to Brownfield, and back to Fryeburg. I can show you some new riding spots and what-not.

Nice looking sled. And for the guys who keep bashing him, just let him go the past is the past and he hasn't done anything wrong thus far. He's not on here bashing you guys so you guys shouldn't be bashing him either. He loves the sport and so do the rest of us so everyone think snow.

I have a question. I have 3 good pistons right now, but I'm concerned about them having high miles on them. Would it be beter idea to just get new pistons/rings/c-clips/needle bearings for $120 total, or just buy the new rings for $15? Normally when I do a rebuild, I like to get new pistons and not used the old ones, but since I'm on a tight budget with getting my crank rebuilt and what-not, I want to keep this cheap, and stay reliable.

Dude i paid 5000$ canadian, thats a pretty decent price the sled was super clean and i got a tarp with it, i know there different and all but still poeple always say its a bad sled. Your fusion and the other hand seemed like it was a melon i havnt had any problems with mine yet.
and if i where you i would put new pistons in as well 120$ dont seem that much to pay for the extra reliability your gona get even if your not gona keep it.

if the pistons are good why would you buy new ones???? how warn are they?? how scorn are they?? any burn marks?? did you try to clean them up yet??? is the cylinder good?? does it need ot be bored?? way to many variables in "good" to determine that.

They have slight wear. No scratches or anything. Tons of carbon, and oil stain on them. I have 3 GOOD cylindes, so I'm selling the good and bad one, and using the 2 other good cylinders. No need for doing a bore, or a renic. I've been told not to re-use pistons, but you can do it with cars and stuff, why can't you do it with sleds. Just re-ring it for a lot cheaper.

If your gunna use the used pistons, at least buy new rings, circlips, and pins.. isn't that what would wear? not the actual piston.

not always you get piston burn, which is burn marks and scorring on the heads, sides and scirts that will affect the way it performs and ca create blow-by

really, you are almost as ignorant as sean used to be...
when the piston gets groved or scored on the sidewalls it then alows a air/fuel mixture by wich creates a blowby effect (creates that nasty brown stuff on the sides if you have ever actually taken a motor appart)(which you probably haven't so i'll assume thats were your comments are comming from)
