Ive been looking for just over a year now, money being a big deciding factor, i finally found a descent sled that caught my eye, runs good, fairly low mileage, reverse, and just a good mountain machine.
I have been looking at either a Polaris RMK or Arctic Cat M series. Found a couple here and there and last week i found a 2003 Vertical Edge RMK 700 with a 151. Went and looked at it and depsite a view dings it was in good shape. Ended up getting it today and will soon start working on it.
700 VES
2490 miles
151x2 track
Riser
Reverse
Spare Belt
Shock Covers
Trailerable cover
Pictures are from a cell phone so not the best quality, but you get the point.

For this year probably not much, in the works are new shocks and a can to get rid of the stock one.

Thanks guys! Its a one owner sled and serviced by a certified dealer. Seemed about the right price, especially for how clean most of the sled is. Just add snow at this point.

Ive always wanted a Polaris. I have only owned one Arctic Cat and one Yamaha but rode with Polaris all the time. Always have liked them and no one has had any troubles with them when i ride with. Friend has a 2004 Vertical Edge RMK 700 and he loves it.
First thing im going to buy is some ice scratchers. Maybe at some point this season i will buy some radius rods for the front suspension since the left hand side has a slight bow to it along with a nickel sized dent in the shock about 3 inches below the spring. Must have caught a stump or something. Those are the only things wrong.
Previous owner said its clutched and jetted for the Black Hills but im gonna take the carbs off and check them anyways. Shortstop i might be sending you a PM about some of your weights and helix's.
This sled feels 100 lbs lighter than my yamaha which is only a 136.
What oil do you guys with VES run in them?
Any pointers being that this is my first Polaris sled, tricks, tips, ect. ?

Its kinda strange wit these 151's. Id rather dig out my 151 than any of the 136's i ride with. U pack ths snow down in front and through the ass end over and can it and your out. Its really nice.
BTW i have always run Polaris gold but switched to Amsoil this year since I work at a dealership now and get it way cheaper.

That's how I get my 136 unstuck, or I simply roll the pig over into new snow. Sometimes onto snow I packed down, sometimes not. Do you notice the 136's trench back in too easy?

I started running amsoil in mine a few yrs ago with good luck. Only mod I would maybe do is a holtzman atacc, all the RMKs I rode with that changed elevation alot had them and they always ran great. A SLP single pipe wakes them up nice to without effecting reliability, otherwise just ride it the way it is as they work great stock!

Sick. I like it. The seat doesn't look functional, but then I bet you never sit on that anyway.

I noticed my 136 trenched back in really easy, PITA if you ask me. I just stand off to the side let it get a little momentum then jump on, sometimes belly floppin it!

ATACC is actually what will probably be my first change to it. Tonight i started going over things, cleaning and what not and thought id be done in 2 hours. 4 hours later im only half way done and still going at it. Gotta love it though!
It has an SLP airbox, there is not jetting chart or anything under the hood. Anyone got any jetting charts or any sort?
This may sound like a stupid question but when i was looking at the radius rod i noticed it was bent, causing the ski to lean funny. Well it was just an allusion and the ski look was actually bent. Upon further investigation do these come stock with a right and left ski? Seems like they do at this point and it looks like the previous owner mixed them up. Anyone have any pictures of their sled?
Thanks again guys for all your help, i appreciate it!
