Well, Minnesota had a lousy summer, never got past luke warm.... left my '97 ZRT waiting for rehab, thiking, Ive got all summer, Ill do it next week. Well, now its the middle of October, and its snowing. Ive got a fancy new seat cover sitting in a box ready to be installed, a busted windshield that I need to replace, and a worn out Ski.

I can figre out the other fixes, but could use some advice for the ski.

who ever had this beast before me wore through the wear bar and ran it till there was a hole in the ski bout a foot from the end, I put a new set of wear bars on and ran with a half worn ski for the remainder of the spring. When the season was finished I went to pull the ski to see what it needed and found that the new carbide I put on snapped right over the hole in the ski. so I need to replace obviously. Ive been watching used pairs get put up on EBAY and they are listed at $200 a pair for a used set, sometimes with NO carbides. thats too rich for my blood. Im ok with buying a single off of dennis kirk, but don't know what I need. If I put on an aftermarket ski, do I have to change out the metal boot that bolts up to the suspension? What kind of skis should I get. I do allot of hard ditch riding mixed with riding on icy gravel roads.

yeah, I had been checking on and off all summer and saw several sets of ZRT Ski's listed for 199.00, but neer followed any till they sold, so I could have been seeing the same pair over and over. I went on again just after I made my post and now amazingly enough there are several single skis for less than $60 with shipping, so Ill keep looking Id really like new green ski's, but I don't know what I need for my sled.

I can't tell much from the pictures, but these look short, does anybody else have knowledge on ski's that could tell me if these would be adequate for my sled?

Look on hcs and arcticchat for people parting out sleds and selling parts. A good set of used ski's shouldn't be that expensive. I gave away a set last year just because I couldn't get much for them. Most arctic cat ZR/ZL/ZRT plastic skis should work.

What's in my toy box:
1999 Arctic Cat Thundercat 1000
1988 Mustang GT 5.0L / 1993 Mustang Coupe / 1993 Mustang GT 5.0L
2000 F-150

I tossed a pair in the garbage before. As you are seeing 200 is steep. 60 bucks shipped for the pair I would not think about and snatch up if you can't find some local for the same price.
