Carry full coverage from December to may and comprehensive in the summer. Most good agents can swing that deal for you if you ask.

Good idea, never thought of that.

Used to just put liability on it, but this year, I think I'm going to put on full coverage. Should only cost about $96 for the year.

If they won't, find someone who will. I'm just a pr@@K that way. Why give someone money for something you don't need. A simple phone call and you are done.

insurance on my homeowners policy, didnt really cost much, I actually dont even notice the increase, but then my homeowners is paid in escrow, so i dont worry about it!!

Just a thought. A lot of insurance companys will not cover sled loss in your garage under your homeowners coverage.Better check your policy.

I ride in NH and snowmobile insurance is not required. I think I will get a policy for my Sabercat. I just dropped over 4K for it and would like it covered and not to mention having the liability too. Who gets insurance and how much do you pay?

I would definitely get full coverage. If your house/garage burns down its covered. Your homeowners will not cover this. If you get in an accident on the trails its covered. You probably spend more in oil in a year.

Polaris50 is exactly right. Personal property is covered under your homeowner's policy, but check your dec sheets: it will list that any motorized vehicle other than equipment used to maintain the premises IS NOT covered.

Insurance is not required in MN, this language is slipped in to the declarations to get around having everything but "property insured elsewhere" insured. (your car burns in your garage, homeowners doesn't cover it because it's insured elsewhere- your personal auto policy)
