mackinsaw Thinks it's mighty convient for the neighbor to wait untill there's snow on the ground and to ask me if I would do him a massive favour and cut his firewood for the winter for money as he is incapable. Dang I got some work cut out for the next few days.

Well, your still the same sean1crazy/EFP, but damn I give you credit for coming back still. Someone once said telling a redneck he cant fly is like giving him a Superman cape, in your case telling you to F off was like giving you a VIP pass.. Anyways, your determined as hell so It'd be fun to see what kind of carnage you'll create with a comp ramp! Keep us updated!

The hill is actually pretty big, I'm not worried of over shooting it. I don't plan on just setting it up and haucking it. Im gonna put it 15 feet away. Then 20. Then 25, etc...

It's also the hill we're jumping in this video

One of the landings will be the hill we're jumping right here.

So you're going to have a comp-ramp step down That's just asking for trouble. If anything put the ramp at the bottom of the hill and create a step up. Plow a bunch of snow to create a bit of a landing. Step ups are really forgiving because you're not falling very fast or far when you land.

One they got at Evolution. Intimidating at first but it's actually really easy.

I enjoy doing step ups ( the landings are really smooth ), but, this year, I'm really looking to learn how to go big. Im not big into height, more so distance. The ramp isnt a comp ramp, it's just taken from the comp ramp design. I took it, sketched it, took off roughly the top 2 feet of it ( straight off of it ), and pulled the back of it in further, then I scaled it to the size I wanted it. So it's like a distance kicker. Most of my landings this year will be downhill with powder.

Im not looking at doing anything to big, so the smaller ramp may be better.

Learn how to go bigger I should say. I don't plan on going 30 feet high, or 150 far. Im looking to double or triple my current riding skills. Or, not so much my skills, but just do more than I've been doing.

sno-x-treme are you going to be up at the park this year?

Sean- I'm not trying to bash you at all, but think about it would it make more sense to save up and take a trip to evosledpark or build a ramp yourself and possibly screw up yourself and your sled. Oh yeah don't plan on jumping that trail sled off a ramp.. If your going to build a ramp do it right the first time. Just build a comp and go to town!! Don't waste your time with a homemade ramp you think will work.

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

haha, I just asked you the same question in my thread....my answer...is a ducks butt water tight? I'll be splitting my time between the park and boondocking around the Rockland area. Will be doing alot of riding....aka basically living in the UP, from late December and until the end of January before I have to student teach. Then it'll be all weekend warrior stuff from SE Wi so I might not be at the park so much then.

For the reference, evo sled park is 23 hours and 33 minutes away from according to google maps.

1,162 miles. That times 2 ( for round trip ) is 2324 miles. Divided by the 19mpg the truck gets on the highway ( probably less with a trailer ), is 122 gallons of gas, times the 2.80 it is for gas on average, is $342 in gas alone. Then hotel rates because we're not making it in one night, and not leaving the day we get there. Then gas for the sleds and oil. Stops along the way. Food. I'm looking at an easy $800-$900, and would have to drive 48 hours round trip. I would rather talk to the rave x guys and just hit the ramps and landings.

Haha my old 440 could barely make it over the 35ft kicker so I upgraded to the sno pro just for ramping. Almost wish I would have gotten an xp but oh well. I heard that their going to have a BAR up there this year There's a couple guys from Duluth going up there this year also I guess. Have to have an SF ride there this year???

Lame. Get a bunch of guys to go. There are a bunch of, um, classy, establishments in Hurley to keep the 21+ crowd occupied.

Well, my dad works 7 on 7 off, so he likes to be home as much as possible, and I don't know anyone else that's into ramping that's over 18. Maybe I can talk a couple of the Rave X guys into going up there. I know I could get there with my sled, and a couple friends with their sleds, it's just getting into a hotel. Is there anyway to freight a sled there, so I can just fly?

The motel Vmax I think is talking about getting a room isn't an issue. Alot of guys that go to Evo stay there. We show up in the early afternoon and always get 2-3 rooms. It's 5 minutes East of the park, and you can ride your sled there if you want. And the minivan warrior taxi service will come pick you up and take the older ones to a night of fun in Hurley.

Get some older people to go then. You'll probably have issues even riding at the park w/o a parent signing for you. I haven't had to worry about that in years but I know with moto I couldn't race or ride at a track w/o a parent or a notarized authorization form.

Good news is if he is as calculated with his speed as he is with pricing out every little detail and measuring every inch of this design he can just skip all that rinky-dink learning stuff: build a superkicker, set it up at 70ft and just go to town.

But seriously heres the golden answer!
-build a comp ramp but split it into 2 sections
-learn on the 1st half then when ur ready to hit a legit ramp just bolt the other half on.

The legendary Joe Dirt once said, "You cant have no in your heart."

If you want it bad enough, you'll find a way to do it! Show your Dad how much better jumping sleds is than crack (although they have similar addictive traits).

Im going to email dave tomorrow at Rave X and see if this winter I can hit his ramps. I know I told myself I wouldn't touch an IQ, but I may have found a 440/600 for cheap.
