In February 2009 I purchased a 2007 Arctic Cat M8 with 250 miles on it. The only modification made to the sled was adding a goldfinger, new spark plugs had been installed right before I bought it.

On a number of random experiences, in the middle of the day (never had issues when starting the day) I've had problems starting my sled. Typically, it will start and then when I give it gas it will slowly sputter out. Usually after it does this once or twice, the engine seems to be flooded and won't even get started. I then get the engine on as flat as ground as possible and give it about 20 minutes.

While this has happened multiple times after some pretty mellow riding, if I roll the snowmobile, it is almost a guarantee that the engine will stall/flood or whatever it's doing.

When this issue occurs typically the sled starts more successfully by revving the engine as I'm pulling the start cord and immediately after it starts.

If anyone has any idea why this is happening and or what I can do to fix this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Change your plugs if your having trouble getting it started. They can't be left on their side for long otherwise they flood pretty quickly. I think you will get better advice at snowest.com (sorry Erick). There are a lot more mountain sled riders there and chances are someone might be experiencing the same thing.

Thanks the plugs were new when I bought it, but I'll try changing them again this year.
