ok, one of my friends has a 1996 or 1995 wrangler with the 4 banger, its a yj. and if he goes to start it cold it takes a while to get going, the motor just turns over. he did the fuel pump. his bro and dad think its fuel lines. i disagree. i know its fuel injection so i say its the injectors, but i dont know how the fuel system works on these. if he lets the key sit in the on position for a little while it will start alot faster. any ideas or ways to troubleshoot? thanks

if you get even a spec of dust inside the injectors it'll take awhile for it to start but if he has to leave the key on it might be the fuel rail

You need to do a fuel system pressure test you hook up the pressure gauge to the fuel rail (there is a valve) and see what it is reading should be around 32psi for your jeep, The fuel system should always have pressure in it for quick start ups. My jeep had the same problem and the fuel injector o rings were bad so the pressure would always leek out. You can rent the pressure test kit at autozone.

1997 xlt 600 trips beat a pair every time... IF they hold together!!!!
1992 wrangler lifted a lot of fun.
