DOES 06 600 HO FUSION NEED TUNNEL/EXCHANGER PROTECTION? - about to stud stock 1 inch track with woodys 1.075 gold diggers! started by slothman1

IM just wondering if i need to run any tunnel protection or heat exchanger protection on a 06 600 ho fusion stock sled....to me it looks like it doesn,t..if i compress rear suspension completly,i still have a hand width of clearence between tunnel and track???any other fusion riders with this sled have any problems without protection?

we didn't. I have helped with 3 of them and no issues. We did a 05' 900 and it did.

cost to replace cooler is more than the protectors.

is it just the rear cooler that has to be protected or is it the whole length of tunnel too?the only surface of a cooler i see on this unit is underneath the snow flap at rear...i dont see a front bulkhead cooler?

If you look at your heat exchanger, there are upside down t-rails running down them. The tunnel protectors are installed onto those rails. They look and go on like a hifax, but thicker. You remove your rear tail flap, and there are windows to install them.

They come in a kit 2 protectors, 2 covers for the windows on the tunnel, and rivets for covers and rear tail flap.

There is some what of a front cooler. It's more like a tube and plate. Look up you sled on here http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp so you can understand what I'm talking about with the front cooler.
