Yamaha made the Bravo
Polaris...Made the Colt and the Star
Ski-Doo made the Elan

These are the ones I'm aware of from the bigger companies.

250 was the standerd for awhile. I remember when 440's were the biggest sled you could get.

remember guys, back in the early 70s, there were bigger engines such as 800cc - those were raw motors back in its day, such as King Kat, Polaris Starfire TX 800s???? I believe. Im not sure how many others that were bigger than 440s in the early 70s. Those 440s were faster than its bigger brothers. Anyone? WL

Polaris came out with a Polaris Star and that was a 250 single. Ski Doo ELAN came out with two versions 250, 250 single cylinder and 250 twin. Im sure there were many other 250s. WL

^^^Yes I remember the bigger engines but the 250's, 340's and 440's were it was at. The 340's were the 600's of today.

I had an 82 Yamaha ET250 as a first sled, I think it was before the bravo... I miss that old thing, it went anywhere and was reasonably fast for a 10 year old... There doesn't seem to be much out there anymore below a 500... although Premier has come out with a 200 and a 300 cc sled, but they are just coming on to the market
