So with my "new" 440 motor i have heard i will be jetting a lot. Now, I have a jet chart but what I was wondering is how to tell on the plugs. Say a plug is brown does that mean move up or down in jetting etc. Any help here would be great because I know I'm not the only one in the dark on this.

basicaly black go leaner, white go richer. dark brown just right.
a good beer drinker isnt a picky beer drinker

so how do you go leaner by going down in jet size or up?

smaller number is leaner=less fuel, larger number is richer=more fuel

Not really dark brown, but more of a light brown/ cardboard color is perfect. If you dont want to jet a lot, get a tempaflow.

Yes.. And you want the plugs to be just a little bit lighter brown than this one...  The nearly perfect pug...

Is this the motor similar to the one in the XCF 440 because thats what we own and we had to do a whole lot of adjusting to the jetting for it to run right, if it is I can tell you what jetting we did and we also changed around where the clip needle thing is (sorry for bad knowledge). This would only be if were running at the same alttitudes as well though.
