Hey I got a 91 F-350 351W. When I got the truck it had no spark. I replaced coil, distrib, pickup, Ignition module, wires and plugs and still no spark. The most power I see with teh key on is around 3 volts on the positive side and I don`t see any power while cranking on either side? There are no fuses under the dash labeled IGN, are there inline fuses? Can I hotwire the coil to see if I can get spark?? Just to add in teh Injectors are working as I can smell Gas.

Does this year have a Thick Film ?? I can't think of the last past. My 88 150 had one. There was a recall on them due to them failing. Not sure if later years still had them. It is a small unit mounted near the base of the distributor (back side if I remember right) about the size of a pack of gum. If that goes, you have no spark either.

Guess I am confusing something on my newer truck with the old one.

maybe. What I am talking about would be gray, with 2 screws holding it down about 2" by 5" at most about 1/2" thick with a plug in on it. Would be plastic and aluminum.

Yup. That is what I was thinking about. Ford put them right on top o fthe block where they absorbed heat and that caused them to fail.

I like my Ford trucks but they can be a pain to fix. Guess I am just getting old. I can remember crawling into the engine compartment to work on a straight 6.

All the ignition componenets are tested and good. I have 6.01 volts at the right wire to the coil and zero volts on the left wire while cranking. Fusible links are good and the pcm will pull codes?? im lost

after tracing the entire wire harness I found nothing and then started doing continuity tests and found excessive resistance to coil power wire. Replaced the plug and bingo shes fixed. Now I need a new fuel pump :(

Take the box off. That's how they do it in the dealer. Has that truck had the new pump baffles put in???? If not make ford do it. mine was pumping fuel from the back tank into the front. The return were messed up. Ford replaced both pumps on a 15 year old truck under a recall. I thought that was pretty sweet.

yeah, that just a fused jumper wire and they check to see if any fluid is leaking. I have had that done for awhile.
