My Formula 670 runs like a bat out of hell and screams. I have hand calculated it to get about 8-10 mpg. It will leave a brownish/blackish trail from the exhaust if you nail it. After riding and letting it cool down for a bit it will flood real easy and be impossible to start without drying the plugs a couple of times. The exhaust ports are oily too somewhat. I think I'm running a bit rich, but the carbs are set to what the manual says and I've never messed with the jets. It doesn't foul plugs either. Maybe this is normal for this sled? Been running it like this for 5 years. Idle is set to about 1700-1800.

^also how warm is it. Sounds like way to rich if your not even burning the fuel and its going right out the exhaust.

I ride in NH and it's normal outside temp and the sled is fully warmed up. I'm thinking that when I shut it down it's still pulling all that fuel into the motor and when I go to restart it after it cools down, it's flooded from it sucking in the fuel during shut down. If I shut off the fuel and let it run until it dies, it will restart just fine with a primer shot or two.

Sorry, 20's and 30's I guess during the day. I ride in the middle of the state in the lakes region.
I forgot to mention that it will start just fine if the motor is still hot and start fine if it's cold. In between those and it can be a pain.

I know older polaris 440's and 488's and problems with the needles and seat leaking. Easiest fix was to just shut the fuel valve off if you were going to stop for a long time. You can check to see if that helps, if it does you've found the problem.

I always shut the fuel off if it's going to sit, even for a short time. It helps to run it out of fuel with the valve off, so maybe that does point to the needles and seats.
