had a close call with a table saw today, just thought i would stress on how dangerous power tools are , and to use extra safty percautions and when possable, use the guard!, its there for a reason, this wouldent have happend if the guard was on,

ended up with 3 stitches to give it its shape back but they couldent close it because there was no skin to do so with, dock sayd 14-21 days of light duty work(N) gonna be a rough couple weeks

i attached a couple picks

Huh, that's the first thing I take off, but not on everything.

Respect your power tools and what their potential is.

Oh, safety glasses are a biggy on my list, almost lost my sight once because I was too stupid to wear them!!

Damn man that has got to hurt. I once cut the tip of my thumb off when I worked at a restaurant. That thing was sensative for a long time.

I also was working at a weld shop polishing a latch plate for a semi roll up door. Was a polisher type air tool and it had little string fibres on the wheel. They grabed the latch plate and spun out on my hand. Put anice cut on my oincky finget my the nail. Still have the bump of ski. No er or dr, we cleaned it up, wrapped it up and I went back to work. Whats the first thing I do, I banged it on a part, man I was in tears.

woodbooga: (WOOD-boog-ah), n. regional dialect, common to areas of New Hampshire and Maine including the towns of Ossipee, Alton, Farmington, Acton, and Lebanon; one who attempts to obtain free firewood to fuel woodburning appliances in an effort to mitigate expenses related to home heating with fossil fuels. Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

Ive chopped int my finger a number of times. All were stupid mistakes where I looked away for watever reason. Lets see, once on a bandsaw that was the worst that was on a knuckle and was pretty far into the bone, then ther are the many times a piece of metal caught on a drill and spun n took some good chunks outta my hand.

Gotta respect your tools. The second you lose respect they bite u and get it back. LOL

Slipped on a sailboat a few years ago and put a 4inch gash in my knee, might not be with a powertool, but be careful, you don't wanna end up not being able to get on your sled!

I teach high school woodshop. So far I've been pretty lucky and have a good safety record. The number one phrase I go around screaming to kids is "WATCH YOUR FINGERS!". They think they are indestructible and have no clue of what these machines are capable of doing. I may print off the pictures if you don't mind just to show them what can happen.

well you would think you would learn after the first time. maybe you should not use power tools ever think of that???

Maybe you should stop being such a cocky little sh1t and stop ruining good threads, ever think of that?

I've seen quite a few accidents in my highschool shops, once a kid was cutting foam with a bandsaw and another kid thought it would be funny to bump his arm and mess up his cut and his finger went right into and split and 1/8 of the way down his finger lengthwise. Then another time my buddy was sanding this tiny chunk of wood on a huge industrial belt sander and then peice of wood shot out and he pushed all 5 fingertips onto the belt and there went all 5 fingertips down to the bone. Then another time my buddy was drunk at his place and was F'in around grinding a little peice of metal down on his bench grinder and the peice of metal shot out and he jammed his thumb down into the gaurd and it took off the tip of his thumb to about halfway down his nail, so being the drunk tough guy he thought he was he just bandaged er up and didn't even look at it for 3 days and when he opened it up the tip was black and stank so he went to the ER and they cut off another 1/8 of an inch.
