I know a lot of people the go to the UP from other states.

Again contact the motels, bars, gas stations, tell them if there is a lost of funding for trails, you will look at other states to ride. They need your money.
It works, call the Chamber of Commerce also

Shhould I call my local news station and tell them about it? Might help spread the word about what's going on?

Yes!, but you will have to have some facts ready for them to look into it... Maybe you could let your local club know and ask them to go to the paper for you. It wouldn't hurt if you guys up there in Michigan got a hold of M.S.A. and see what they know about all this.

Checking the MSA Website it appears that the snowmobile community is making their voices heard and progress can be made. Make a difference, keep the calls, emails and letters flowing.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Here is what i sent to my local news station

Dear 9 and 10 news,

As a concerned snowmobiler I was wondering; why you haven't done a story on the abolishing of the Snowmobile Advisory Committee by Governor Granholm? This change has a potential to damage northern Michigan's economy greatly, as the recreation of snowmobiling brings in more than 1 billion dollars to the economy each year! The snowmobiling community is not happy about this change. The old system worked very well, this system payed for itself 100% by its own funds. So how will it cut down on costs to our state? I hope you can help make what is happening known, so we can stop these unreasonable actions! and help keep our economy strong. Don't let this horrible choice ruin our economy and the recreation of snowmobiling, help us get this turned around.

Here is what the MSA had to say about this action. http://www.msasnow.org/

Sincerely,
Dakota D. Remer

Do you guys think this will get through?
