they will say anything to make a sale.....To know for sure you need to look at the service manual and timing curves.
They list RMKs XC7s XC6s just so they can get hits on their auction commonly. I used to take the time to let them know a 1998 RMK will not run to potential with a XC700 cdi...most don't care. They just want the sale. I bought one for an extra one time and didn't hook it up right away to check. Later after I couldn't leave feedback I realized it was junk. So if you get one,,, check it right away....
Is your cdi not remap-able? In other words some of the newer CDIs can be sent out and reprogrammed...
