After years of riding in PA, I am moving on to Maine -- the snowmobiling trails look good -- promise to be well-swept and wide -- and the mapping is clear. Am staying in Kingfield at The Herbert Hotel -- so I can ride right up to the place and the owner cuts snowmobilers and skiiers a sweet deal. Any one out there familiar with the area? Any ideas for my first time out there?

If you are heading up to Maine for some Riding, You need to hit the Rangeley Area which is just west of Kingfield. Its good riding around there, and you can keep heading up north to the Jackman area which is also really fun. Grab a map, and just go, that whole area will be a blast.

Also, if you like long startight flat trails, hit the railroad bed. Just off I95 in Newport. There is a parking lot at the trail so no worries there. Head up too Dover then you can go into Atkinson, Sebec, and Milo. Milo gets a lot of traffic but Atkinson and Sebec are hidden paradises. You probably won't encounter any sleds that way. Im not 100% sure which way it will take you if you head away from Milo in Dover.
