I have upgraded the stock 4" block to a 6" and I find it still isn't enough when standing. So I'm ordering the cables and either a 8" or a 10" riser block. I like the stock fcat bars so i'm gonna keep them. I stand between 6foot1 and 6foot2. Just wondering what size should i go with. I spend maybe 50% standing playing around, and 50% sitting down flying through groomed trails. Also if anyone has pics of 8" or 10" riser blocks installed on a fcat i'd like to see them. thanks for your time.

If you are sitting down 50% of the time I wouldn't want to go too tall, so I would say and 8" riser block.

I have an 8" on my firecat. It would be good for you. I am the same height and do the same type of riding, 50-50. I have a pic somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up.

here is an 8" on my old firecat. It was so tall that i broke the steering post two times. I am over 6' also, and it was very comfortable jumping and playing around. Hard on the post though. Sorry not a good view of the bars.

Enough leverage and you can break lots of things...you exert alot of force on the steering post when jumping, carving, etc. The larger the riser, the more risk there is to the post. I've seen a number of snapped Firecat posts while reading forums.

I know on my ZR, there is alot of flex in it with my riser setup. One hard hit to the bars and I'm sure the post would snap.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!

I gotta 6.5 riser on mine. Bent my steering post a little bit over time. TIME to getta new one. It's not too bad but I want it to look straight. Im gonna go with the new rox adjustable risers. They look pretty nice too.
