On sunday i bought a 1998 xc 700. I met the guy there and we pulled it off the trailer and started it cold. It started first pull on full choke. That night when i went to start it it wanted about half throttle to get it started. Yesterday after it sat for a whole day it refused to start. The back end was raised too high and the whole sled had a pretty sharp angle. It is really flooded, with the plugs wet and fuel leaking out the exhaust ports. Would having it way too high cause such flooding. Also where are the plugs to drain the case. Thanks for any help.

Having the carb end of the engine up too high will let the float bowls in the carbs continuously drain fuel into the engine. This is why its flooded so bad.

The case drain plugs are located under the exhaust Y-pipe, basically straight down the the exhaust port on each side. They're just little brass plugs that look similar to carb jets w/out the center hole.

remove those plugs and try to not have the track more than a few inches off the ground or shut the gas off.

Ya it was flooded really bad. I took the carbs off and cleaned them. IT would start with half throttle but the choke didn't do anyhting. Then after two minutes of running there was a 3.5 foot circle of gas and oil that came out of the pipe. And all the exhaust joints were leacking. What would this be from. I shouldn't have to give it any throttle to start it.

You may even have fuel in the pipe...remove it and dump it out. Install new plugs and fresh gas as well.
