I know this has been posted before but what are your favorite recipes. I have been eating my home cooking for the last 2 weeks straight and am having trouble coming up with meals for myself.

chilli. two cans of mild chili beans i think hormel, one can of diced tomatoes, about a half of an onion, 1 or 1 1/2 tea spoons of chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of and one pound of burger. Cook the burger until brown drain the grease and throw it all in a pot. Let it simmer for about an hour or two and stir it every 10 or 15 minutes so it doesnt burn to the bottom. Throw a clove of garlic or two in with burger if you want.

There is a recipe in last month's Bon Appetit for Shepherds pie. It's a time consuming recipe, but holyyyyyy cow was it good. http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/2009/0...pherds_pieDefinitely a weekend job. I challenge anyone to eat that and not enjoy it! And last night, my brother and I cooked up some homemade buffalo wings. 1/3 cup butter and about 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot for the sauce, and full chicken wings from the meat cooler. Slather em up good, and bake at 425* for an hour. Best wings I have EVER had.

Chicken Corn Chowder
Here's my own version I came up with. It's easy to make and very tasty!
What you need:
2 cans of cream of potato soup
1 can of chedder cheese soup
1 can of corn
1 lb of turkey breast from the deli. (instead of sandwich slices, have Wilma slice a big old 1" thick slab) This is perfect to cube!
2 cups of milk
1 tomato diced
your favorite hot sauce ...("Mo hotta, mo betta")
tsp of curry
1/2 large onion
Now you just add this all together and add the milk slowly. Don't put so much milk in that becomes too thin.
cook on low heat for 1/2 an hr. to 45 min.
Serve in bowl with a dollop of sour cream on top and sprinkle paprika and some onion greens on top.
Dip it up with tortia chips!

I have a really simple but incredible recipe for baby back ribs. if you like ribs, give these a shot. I promise you won't be dissapointed.
BABY BACK RIBS:
Ingredients
• 1 rack baby back ribs (about 1 1/2 pounds)
• 1 recipe Bourbon Barbecue Sauce, recipe follows
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut the racks of ribs in half crosswise. Rub the ribs, paying special attention to the meaty side, with the sauce from recipe posted below. Lay the rib pieces meat side down in an 11 by 13-inch baking dish. The pieces should be overlaped slightly.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake until the meat begins to pull away from the ends of the bones and the ribs are just tender, about 1 hour. DO NOT OVERCOOK! You can bake the ribs up to a day before and keep them refrigerated. Bring refrigerated ribs to room temperature about 1 hour before you grill them.
Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Grill the ribs, brushing them with your favorite bbq sauce, (I recommend “sweet baby rays” sauce) until they're crispy and heated through, about 10-15 minutes. Move the ribs around as they grill, the sugar in barbecue sauce makes it easy for them to burn. Let the ribs rest for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting them into 1 or 2-bone pieces. .
Beer based barbeque Sauce:
1/4 cup steak sauce
1/4 cup good dark beer such as Guiness or another porter style beer
1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/8 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon regular or grainy Dijon mustard
2 pinches red pepper flakes
Kosher salt
Stir all ingredients together in a small bowl until sugar is dissolved. The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Yield: about 3/4 cups

Smoke Grilled Pork Loin (Back loin)
cut loin into pcs about 2-3 inches thick
Do not remove the fat layer
sear all sides in a pan with olive oil-heat the pan until the oil almost smokes. Only sear long enough to seal the meat
remove to a plate
season meat with garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt and pepper
light only one side of the grill-keep on lowest fire setting
place the meat-fat sideup-on the unlit side
throw some soaked wood chips into the grill about a small handful
close the cover
crack a beer
throw more chips in when it stops smoking
you can also make a smoker pouch by neatly folding up some aluminum foil with a few hots cut into it. This has to go down near the flame. It will not smoke if you leave it on the grate
finish beer and open another if neccessary
continue for 40-60 minutes depends on how hot your grill gets
serve with potatoes or rice

I can think of all kinds of things to cook on the grill, now that it is getting cold out its not near as much fun tending the grill drinking beer. The last 2 sounds like good ideas though.

So, sit in the kitchen!
Really, my grill NEVER gets put away.
I agree, it is not as much fun when it is getting colder outside. Around here there is one big upside though. No misquitoes!!!!

I found a great lazy way to make grilled cheese, toast 2 pieces of bread, put your oven on when you put the bread in the toaster (to about 425). When the toast pops put the cheese between the toast, and stick it in the oven for a few min. No dirty dish's! lol

Chips, salsa, and tequela.
I make the salsa,
Use 1 can of diced tomatoes, drained, and then straight to the bowl with 1/2 medium sized onion diced.
In the quizenart, add 2 whole habernero peppers with the seeds and all, no stems,
squeeze 1 lime into it,
about 1/4 cup fresh cilantro,
4 cloves garlic,
2 cap fulls of vinager as a preservative,
1/2 tee spoon salt
1 shot tequela
grind that down and stir into the tomatoes/onion.
from there, dip with tortilla chips and drink the remaining tequela.
This is one of my favorite appetizers.

That sounds pretty darn good! I'm going to copty this one. What does the tequela do?, Could you use Vodka in it's place. I'm guessing it's to help break down the peppers and onions some? I of course get the salsa/tequela thing. I just never have tequela on the shelf though.

mackinsaw Thinks it's mighty convient for the neighbor to wait untill there's snow on the ground and to ask me if I would do him a massive favour and cut his firewood for the winter for money as he is incapable. Dang I got some work cut out for the next few days.

George Foreman grills are worth their weight in gold, you can cook anything on those and the mess is contained and easy to clean. We make burgers on the George Foreman grill and they turn out perfect. The simplest and by far best recipe we have found for burgers is regular ground beef (not lean, it doesn't have enough fat and the burgers turn out to dry), seasoning salt and some choped onion to your discretion. We've tried all kinds of fancy recipes in the resteraunt with worsteshir sause and all kinds seasonings and stuff but there not as good as the simple recipe.

Chicken Parmesan. I'm sure you know how to make it but here's what I use:
Desired amounts of:
Boneless chicken
Garlic and Herb Spaghetti Sauce
Rigatoni Noodles
Italian herbs
Mozzerella cheese
1lb of ground beef
To sum it all up I boil the rigatoni noodles and brown the beef. Brown the boneless chicken over the stove. In a baking pan I throw the noodles in, top the noodles with sauce. Throw the chicken on top and add more of the sauce over the chicken plus the italian herb. Let it cook for 30 mins or so covered. Add the mozzerella cheese and let melt. And thats one of my simple semi-monthly dinners.

Alcohaul is part of the process of getting the pepper extract from the peppers, It basically adds some flavor along with making the peppers a little hotter.
The next day, You will know if you should have only used 1 habernero. lol

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!
