what's your standard gear?...
- What things do you almost always have packed along with you for a ride besides an extra belt, plugs, and the tools that came with your machine?

I'm a mountain rider.
What I carry:
Any tools I might need to work on the sled(pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc). flashlight tow rope extra goggles extra socks extra balaclava extra gloves trail map space blanket(one of the best things you can carry, will go a long ways in keeping you warm). fire starting supplies soup can SPOT GPS beacon shovel with saw probe compass knife removeable handguards snacks rag for wiping hands off stocking cap
I'm sure there's a few things I'm forgetting.
The things I highlighted in bold are critical to have while riding in the mountains IMO.

woodbooga: (WOOD-boog-ah), n. regional dialect, common to areas of New Hampshire and Maine including the towns of Ossipee, Alton, Farmington, Acton, and Lebanon; one who attempts to obtain free firewood to fuel woodburning appliances in an effort to mitigate expenses related to home heating with fossil fuels. Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

If your a mountain/back-country rider, mention that at the top of your list.
I may have?
I suppose you could do a search if it is that important to you.
Even if I did I think both new and older members are bound to see things that maybe they should carry with them. I have seen a couple things that members put on their list that I didn't have that are pretty good ideas that I had not thought of.
I'll check and see if I did the same thread before though.
I could not find it. That's not to say there may be a similar thread.
I do pack a quart of oil. noticed I did not have that on my list.

This is a good topic in that how many times are you out riding and realize you forgot to pack something?
This is a good reminder to at the start of the season to hopefully let you keep in mind what you all need.
