ok so i have 3 seperate edge 800's all 02's. i have one that the temp lights kicks on and off intermitantly and i dont know why. it has even happened on a cold start right off the bat. last year while riding i would hook and unhook the computer and occasionally it would help.

Does any one have any ideas what something like this could be? i already swaped out the sensor with another sled and that didnt help. i was thinking it may be computer. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it show any other symptoms of overheating? I overheated my Edge 600 twice because of lack of snow, and it went into some kind of shutdown mode. Does your sled do that?

Sounds like you might wanna clean the connectors real good with some di-electric grease.

those 02 mods had that cooling issue. the fix is your snow flap. get a 03 or newer and it shouldn't do that so much. either that it could be your coolant temp sensor. when the sensor fails, it misreads the temp and the engine 'protects' itself from further harm. that happened to my 8 last year, and replaced the sensor. didn't over heat, only in marginal conditions.
