i did the xtra10 swap last year from a 98 xc 700 into my 93 440, worked great! but it was a little soft for my riding and tends to bottom out, last night i tried to move the stop blocks for the scissors to the front hole and when i tested it, it was extremely stiff and when i tried bouncing on it with a buddy the suspension went strait to the floor and was binding, i moved the stop blocks back to the rear hole for now but im looking for the measurements from the front torque arm mounting point to the rear mount point. cuz i think my mount points are just far enough off to make it bind when the blocks are in the front hole and be perfectly fine when theyre in the rear hole, i know its between 22 1/2" and 23" and that some years varie lol i think i got the varied one

23 1/16 center to center on mounting holes. The rear scissor stops won't adjust your stiffness, they are for weight transfer. You should be adjusting the blocks on the torsion springs. If you are at the highest setting on those already, you need the heavier springs.

awesome thankyou, weight transfer is another issue id like to take care of, it likes wheelies and it drives me nuts if i can get the skis to stay about 1 to 2 inches off the ground that would be perfect. it already has the heavier square wire springs, put those in last year when i did the swap, hoping maybe its just soft because i have the wrong measurements

Where are your torsion spring adjuster blocks set now (the ones where the short ends of the torsion springs set)? If they're set all the way out, you might just need to soften them some if you want to set your coupler blocks all the way in (fully coupled).

fixed it! that 1/4" that i was off made quite the difference, had to make completely new brackets to clear all the holes in my tunnel but now even at its softest setting (torsion stprings at the lowest and the scissor blocks all the way back) its much much much stiffer than it was in the first place, i tested out all the adjustments to make sure it woulnt bind and they all checked out great!! :D thanks for you help guys

and to any one doing the xtra 10 swap into and older chassis make sure you know what sled your suspension came out of cuz 1/4" off makes a hell of a difference
