I'm an intermediate mountain rider. Checking out Summit 800's 151 to 154" $6000 to 8500 between 2006 and 2008. Been reading forums. So many things to look out for, if updates been done, clutching issues, cracks in frames, poor tracks, engine bearing failures, steering rubbing air box, exhaust valve issues and heavy oil consumption to mention a few. I'm having a hard time keeping up with which machine has what issue. Which year should I focus on the most.

Just keep track of that stuff on an Excel spread sheet. Keeps it organized then you can really start to look and compare.

king prat isdont right dont forget to to a compression test, and if possible take it for a test drive. i would also look at the belly pan cause you can tell what they have have been using it for.
