Ya its my stock seat off a Gen II, when the guy built it he asked if I wanted the stock red (and added the more black) or go all black. You could get all black leather.

It worked out really nice, it added like 4" of stiffer foam. Worked great with the bar raisers I put on that year to. You sit totally different. Its level with the top of the gas tank. OH and just an FYI if you take someone for a ride with you lol make sure to tell them to REALLY hang on. lol

^no that was going to be my second choice, went to some guys in Maple City, they did mine and my dads (98 XC 700 with a GenII seat and gas tank) I guess my dad works with the guys that did it.

The space in Sparta would do a good job to.

If anyone is interested, I just started my upholstery and soon to be fabrication shop. My business name is Aftermath Fabrications & Upholstery and I just invested in a heavy duty sewing machine. I graduated from the Wyotech Pensylvania campus where I took street rod, chassis fab and trim and upholstery. I will be specializing in automotive, motorcycle, snowmobile, ATV, motorhome, marine, and only doing some select household projects. I can get all kinds of vinyl from regular grain with regular colors to carbon fiber vinyl, brushed aluminum looking vinyl, and I can special order antiskid rubber coated vinyl for the top. I can also repair or add and shape foam from my supplier. I plan on making a custom seat for my sled this year as well. If anyone is interested let me know; Thanks.

Bigrok your sled looks really good. Who ever did the seat did a nice job. I've always been a fan of the Blue/Yellow Edge X sleds. If you get a chance, look at mine in the first page of my media center to see what it looked like when I had a BOSS highrise and my homemade aluminum windshield on it. It was an awsome seat but I won't be paying $615 for a custom seat again.

I'm not sure how good that would be for the gas tank, but what do I know.

One of my friends did something similar to this, you don't want to put too much weight on it or it will slowly dint/wear it out. Unless you put enough support that the weight is not on the gas tank but just touching it, just my .02

Thanks for the compliments on my sled. I just sold it this fall. It was my dream sled, but living in Hawaii, it's too nice to not get used. So down the road it went.

I like your seat. I've always wanted a Boss seat, but you are right, $615 is too much for a seat.

The first one is like what I had on my old sled, it's not to uncomfortable. But the second one with the bench style is an accident waiting to happen imo. They do work for seat grabs and stuff butthe first time you land a little hard your nuts are going to feel it.

Edit: pretty soon I'll start to show a build on how I made my new freestyle seat

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!
