I recently bought a 2003 Polaris xcr 800 with 1070 miles on it. It has slp pipes, high compression heads, and the guy put a different helix and bigger spring in the clutch. I was wondering what I could do to make it louder cause i love loud exhaust lol and anything else i could do to it? And any other info on this sled cause i love this sled lol

first of all, a stock xcr 800 is one of the fastest sleds polaris ever made, if not, it is the fastest. and with th upgrades it has on it, that thing has to fly!
second, loud pipes give our sport a bad rep. if you want to have loud pipes, do snocross, watercross, or grass/ice drags. thats about the only place where loud pipes are tolerated

1999 Polaris XC 500
-holeshot skid plate
-fox reservoir front track shock
-fox front shocks
-xenon low-beam bulb (very helpful at night)

Just add gas and snow!

I bet MBRP or Sno Stuff makes something for that sled but it might not be compatible with the slp pipes. You could always gut the silencer you have now.

What do you mean by "not in Saskatewan"?? Are you trying to say that pipes are not loud in Saskatewan? That people do not care if snowmobiles are obnoxiously loud in Saskatewan? Please explain.

Cool...I just got a 2001 xcr 800 this month, mine is stock.

What I have found out is our sleds need updated carb slides. They come stock with green slides and need to be updated to black slides.

They also break motor mounts, so a torque arm is required (I have one coming from SLP)

I also enjoy loud pipes on everything I have, trucks, bike, car must be a SK thing

Well in my area loud cans don't matter so don't say "loud cans get all our trails closed", but in some areas they do so just know your area's rules before you buy.

you shouldn't need anything else with all of those mods already on the sled. also, there aren't any pipes out there that will be louder than what you already have. just different tone and pitch.

That's a pretty poor attitude, man. You not caring about how loud your sled is can get a trail closed pretty quickly. Check your local laws about exhaust modification and make sure what you're doing is legal. If so, then fine, but you're playing with fire if you don't check.

You also run the risk of a ticket and fine in certain areas.

We do know where he rides. Saskatchewan. He has confirmed it. For someone to say they don't give a **** is an issue if there are laws against modded exhaust.

Not beating on him. If there's no laws, I say have at it. Just trying to get him to think.

There is no laws on the trail i have already looked into it. Unless you live in town but theirs always people in town who think its loud when really its not they probably don't like snowmobiles that's why.

Take them SLP pipes off and throw them away. You will lose power and throttle response. If you have to have pipes then get HTG's. They are about the only pipes that make a power difference. The stock pipes work very well. You will also have a lot better chance trying to find a can with the stockers.

It's realy not an issue in this area, half the cars and truck on the road around here have very loud ex-systems never mind the dirt/street bikes and quads.

There are no air care laws and the like...

the aftermarket cans wont fit the slp pipes.

most aftermarket cans are slower than stock, they sound cool but usually loose performance.

the best thing i have found on the xcrs is to run stock pipes with a good port job. i beat many piped xcrs with my stocker before porting. hp doesnt win races it just helps overcome a sloppy setup.

I personally love the 25-38 gearing for lake running and high speed trail riding. others love the 22-41 gearing for the bang out of the hole.
