Like the title says, I have a 2001 Polaris SuperSport 550 fan. I got an IQ seat from a buddy of mine and I would really like to make it fit. It almost looks like I would need to swap the gas tank from an IQ also. I don't want to spend a ton of money on it but think it would look cool and be more comfortable. I want the sled to work well because the motor is all rebuilt and it will be a perfect sled for my son and nephew to ride as they get bigger. I am riding it this winter but will prob buy a liquid before next winter. Any help is great. Thanks.

i think it would work with a little modification i tryed to put my buddy seat on my sled and it goes up and matches with the top of the edge tank the only thing you would have to do is some trimming up front and find a way to hold the front down

Thanks. I kind of figured I could modify the front. I was trying to see if anyone has done it and what it would take to get it done. I think it will wait until the spring though because now as soon as we get snow I want to be riding. I don't want to have to screw around with the seat before I can hit the snow. Thanks for the response though.

I'm putting an Edge tank and seat on my wife's XLT, and I'm putting a Fusion tank and seat on my XLT. I'm not sure but I think the IQ is the same tank (if you're talking 2005 - 2006). With the Fusion seat and tank, the tank provides a lot of support for the front part of the seat. It would be pretty easy to drill and bolt the front of the seat to the tunnel but the plastic is kind of flimsy and I think it would buckle after a while without the added support from the tank.

Thanks. That is what I think. I will try to find a used tank and I'll let you know how it turns out.

You have the seat, you have the sled. Go out to the garage and try it out. This is what resulted from me trying to fit an IQr seat on a gen II chassis

That seat looks pretty sick. I do have the seat and sled but the sled is out at my cottage and I don't get out there all the time. Thats why I was wondering if anyone has done it. Then I could get any parts/supplies I need to put it together next time I go out. Oh well I am sure we have enough stuff lying around, I can make it work. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
