I cant get the new helix in right on my sled, I'm kinda confused about how much tension i should put on the secondary (like when you spin it) and i was also having trouble getting the key to line up and for the helix to go over it, and now that i have it, it's jammed. should i spray wd-40 in it and try again tomorrow? And the snap ring that goes over it is a b***c to get on and take off so I'm going to bborrow some better snap ring plires from the school. Can anybody git me some advise?

The primary...do you have the "right" clutch puller? tighten it all the way and then I use an impacted wrench just a quick shot, then tap the puller with a hammer and it should just fall right off.

I got the secondary back together and on she sled, for the primary, yes it's the right puller, and I don't have an impacted wernch but i could tighten it as much as i can then tap it with a hammer?

Belt doesn't catch? Do you mean primary doesn't engage?

Yeah, but evn if I didn't, the primary would engage and the track would spin, right? I didn't really do much to the primary though, just take the cover off and put the new spring in it..

Are you sure you're revving it high enough for the clutch to engage? And you're POSITIVE the weights are the EXACT same, they just don't look similar?

Did you buy a new or used clutch kit? What does the paperwork list for an engagement rpm? It only takes like 5 minutes to swap to the other weights. The weights already in the clutch haven't been modified (ie. ground heel)? Whatever your problem is, it has to be simple, CVT clutches are some of the simplest things ever to work on, (work on and tune are two different things).

no, the belt might slip on the secondary. Can't really mess up the pri. Pretty straight foward.

How can the belt slip in the secondary if the primary doesn't even engage? Putting the buggy before the horse...

true. I thought it was engaging. You need to pull the cover and see what is hanging up. What springs did they send you.

It could be that some redneck in the past has modified the weights in there right now, either lightened them or ground the heel to raise the engagement rpm to impress his other redneck friends...I'd bet if you compare the weights in the sled and the ones they sent you you'll be able to spot a difference pretty quickly...Let us know what you find out

OK when tearing apart your clutch did you check the buttons? Did you take out the weights and check the fittings where they sit? Did you check the helix to make sure its not wearing out funny or any dents/scratches in it?How did you clean your clutches? Brake cleaner, parts cleaner, hot soapy water? How did the spyder look? No cracks?
Did you use "acitone" (sp) to clean the clutches when done with no finger prints? I think someone mentioned before but did your secondary clutch snap back together when you where done assembling it?

I took it apart again, this time I changed the weights, they are the same but I did it anyways. Put it back together and started it and reved it past 6000 rpms and and the clutch still didn't engage.. The old helix was fine, the buttons were fine, The fittings where the weights st were fine, and I cleaned it with break cleaner.

Cool...I'd throw that old spring in and try it. If it ain't the new spring malfunctioning it would almost have to be junk bushings then I think...You did tighten the clutch on the crank right? Hey, I got to ask...

After reading this Thread I was thinking the same thing could be it's on incorrectly(seeing how you had trouble knowing how to take it off)and the crank is just spinning inside the clutch. You said you didn’t use an impact to remove it. How did you get enough force on the retaining bolt for the clutch to remove it? What method did you use to keep it from spinning? Maybe you damaged something during this process and over looked it? This might be something to think about if you are putting it back on correctly.
