Definetly one of the most underated oils there are. Too bad I can only get it in quarts, but at 16 a gallon I can't complain.

Its funny that people say oil is very good when they have no idea how good it actually is. The only way to judge a oils overall ability to lubricate and protect aside from lab testing is to disassemble a engine and look at the condition of the internals, not just look at valve cleanliness. I'd be willing to bet 50% of the people here who say one oil is better than the other has no clue if thats actually the case or not. just my .02 cents!

so... what oil is the best?

I never said i know or claimed to know. Use whatever oil suits your riding conditions and price is all i ever say. Most oils today are very good anyways as long as they are used in the proper environments that they were designed for. Amsoil interceptor seems to lub well judging by my piston and cylinder conditions. Over 3,500 miles and a perfect cylinder wall and skirt with very little teflon coating rubbed off. I consider that very reasonable.

now check the crank and bearings. I would bet they are dry and have very little tack or oil on them.
Talk to xcr1250 or indy dan. Ask them about amsoil and it's lack of rust prevenatices.

I run citgo sea and snow, cheap keeps my apv's fairly clean. Very good tested qualitys, run this stuff till my citgo stops carrying it. Then I'm switching over to fowler extreme.

I run it in the wifes Indy 500, 87' indy sport and my brother runs it in his 01' 600 xc x. It is nearly as clean ans my sleds running klotz.

Supertech! Its marine rated, so its good to use in your sled. At $10 a gallon, how can you beat it? When I can't get to walmart which is 35+ minutes away, I have to run Castrol 2T at $6.50 a quart. Ouch.

marine rated is not always a good thing in cold temps.

I use klotz in my valved sleds and citgo S&S in my non-valved engines.
When running amsoil I noticed "dry" crank bearings on tear down. So I gave away all of my interceptor. I am very pleased with the cleanliness of klotz and the very little wear it seems to have.
No matter what oil you use make sure it is blended for the application you are going to use it in. Use an egd+ or FC rated oil. No matter who makes it.

Running Arctic Blue. That's what the sled always had in it. And talking lubrication, when I tore the motor down for a top end rebuild last year, I also split the case to replace the crank seals and found the crank bearings had a nice film of oil on them, so it must work. And for $16.00 a gallon, how could I go wrong?

i used to run amsoil in everything...but the etec doesnt use hardly any oil. I think im only on the third gallon that i've bought in 2500 miles. So in that sled i use the xps doo oil.

i like to run the same oil in my sleds and stick with it, sometimes different oils can react with each other and cause gunk buildup in your engine, thats why i use the same polaris gold every time i fill up, but ive heard on snowest that synthetic oil is bad for your sled, they run regular oil, you have to clean your valves more, but thats what people on that site are saying

syn is bad only on break in and has less rust inhibators than dino oil.

I have run both amsoil and a cheap brand called arctic blue, did not see much difference between the two types other than the price which is considerable. Currently running arctic blue.

Amsnotoil, great input xcr440, glad that some others are educated in that crap and don't run it.
I use Polaris Synthetic Blue Blend, it works great. Best of both worlds, just clean the valves about every 750miles and no stickiness.

Blue Marble...It's what out engine builder recommends, if I remember right its really expensive. But a quarts lasts us an entire season. There's also like an 8 step procedure for conditioning your motor with it. I feel its FAR better than amsoil. (Why does everyone complain about cleaning valves anyhow? It takes like 2 minutes a jug!)

My parents and brother use the blend also. They normally ride 1000 miles or less. They clean their valves in the spring when they put the sleds away.

I run arctic cat 50:1 injector oil and that works very well, lmost ran out of oil on the trail, the gass station only had volvolin inj. oil and worked pretty good as well.
